It’s time for Back to Cruel III!
Summer may be almost over but never fear! The end of summer means it’s also time for Kingston’s most hotly anticipated event: BACK TO CRUEL III!
That’s right, September 8 will be your last chance in 2012 to see your favourite derby girls in action at home! Always the Kingston Derby Girls’ biggest and best bout of the season, Back to Cruel is a celebration — of the amazing season that was, of our legion of dedicated fans (we love you!), and of all the amazing memories we have from this summer. All of our training, bruises, and dedication comes down to this night of hard-hitting, strategizing, wicked fast action!
It’s a double header with the Rogue Warriors and the Skateful Dead starting things off by battling for the right to call themselves the home town champs followed by everyone’s favourite travel team, the Disloyalists, taking on Toronto Roller Derby’s Deadly Viper Assassination Squad (D-VAS). All that intense action on the track will probably make you thirsty, so we’ve thoughtfully included a trackside beer garden… not to mention a musical half-time show! Follow us to the Mansion for the afterparty featuring amazing musical guest Krista Muir. Come party with the derby girls as we celebrate one heck of a fantastic season!
Doors open at 5:30 pm, first bout whistle blows at 6:30 p.m., second whistle at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance (what a steal!) and $15 at the door. As always, children 10 and under are free.
