All three KDG teams are training hard this week in preparation for Back to Cruel III, our final home bout of the season (got your tickets yet?). We were glad to welcome some superb outside coaching in the form of Mistress Von Uber Vixen of the Brighton Rockers, a United Kingdom team known for its excellent coaching team, which includes the World Cup’s Team England coach. Mistress has visited us before, but this time she spent two practices leading drills, coaching, and working with each team individually on skills such as jammer swarming, truck and trailer blocker movement, reverse blocking, and wall breaking, on skates though she had a bum ankle. We so appreciate her coming to hang out with our league and share her expertise with us — we’ll be thinking of her the next time we spin around on the apex of the track and shoulder-check someone in the sternum while skating backwards (coming soon to a bout near you).
